WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (July 25, 2016) – Behind career nights from Marcus Davis and Mason Robbins and a strong start by Thad Lowry, Winston-Salem pounded Frederick 10-1 on Monday night at BB&T Ballpark.

Davis, who is now hitting .383 in 26 second-half games, went 3-for-5 with a career-high four RBIs. Since the All-Star break, the former Padres farmhand has driven in 23 runs. With his three-hit performance, Davis also upped his hitting streak to 12 games, the second-longest run by a Dash hitter in 2016.

Robbins set a new career-high with five hits. The 23-year-old, who went 5-for-5 with three runs scored, is the first Dash player with a five-hit performance since Joey DeMichele accomplished the feat on April 27, 2014, at Salem.

On the bump, Lowry (7-6) shined for Winston-Salem (13-18, 41-60). The right-hander, who was 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in two previous starts against the Keys, went six innings and allowed just an unearned run in the first.

With the win, Winston-Salem snaps a five-game losing streak, which was tied for the club’s longest this season. The Dash improved to 17-10 at BB&T Ballpark since the start of June.

After the Keys (16-14, 52-48) opened the game with an unearned run in the first, the Dash struck with two outs in the bottom of the frame. After back-to-back singles by Robbins and Nick Basto with two away, Davis roped a two-run double down the right field line off Frederick starter David Richardson (3-3) to give Winston-Salem a 2-1 lead.

In the fourth, Toby Thomas put the Dash up 3-1 a one-out solo homer that hit the top of the wall and bounced over. Thomas is hitting .398 in the second half.

Davis provided the final blow for Winston-Salem against Richardson in the fifth inning on a two-run double to give the Dash a 5-1 edge. Richardson left with the bases loaded and nobody out and gave way to Genison Reyes.

Reyes recorded two quick strikeouts before allowing the Dash to take an even bigger lead. Cleuluis Rondon reached on a well-struck RBI infield single that hit off Reyes, and on the play, Reyes made an errant throw to first that allowed two more runs to score.

Winston-Salem rounded out the scoring in the sixth with RBI singles from Basto and Telvin Nash against Reyes. The three-through-six hitters (Robbins, Basto, Davis and Nash) combined to go 13-for-19 with eight runs scored and five RBIs.

Drew Hasler relieved Lowry in the seventh and tossed three scoreless innings, thus picking up his first High-A save.

The Dash continue their three-game set against the Keys on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Winston-Salem sends right-hander Robinson Leyer (0-1, 5.91 ERA) to the hill against southpaw Mitch Horacek (4-9, 5.06 ERA).
