The Dash (21-34) trailed 2-0 going into the sixth, but that’s when the offense went to work against Mudcats right-hander Ryan Clark (0-6). With runners on first and third and two outs, Marcus Davis roped a two-run triple to right to tie the game at two. The Dash slugger has now hit safely in his last 12 contests.

Chris O’Dowd, in his first start with Winston-Salem since April 24, followed with a two-run homer to right to cap the scoring in the frame. Clark finished the game tossing six innings and yielding five runs (two earned).
Carolina struck back with one in the seventh off Dash reliever Andre Wheeler, but the left-hander worked out of further damage and proceeded to toss a scoreless eighth.
Connor Walsh pitched a scoreless ninth, locking down his fourth save in five tries. With the win, Winston-Salem improves to 7-20 at BB&T Ballpark.
After going scoreless through the first two innings, the Mudcats (21-31) pushed across an unearned run in the third off Dash starter Thad Lowry (4-4). With Keith Curcio on first and one out, Joseph Odom reached on an error by Dash third baseman Gerson Montilla. On the play, Dash left fielder Michael Suiter bobbled the ball and allowed Curcio to get to third and Odom to second. Joey Meneses followed with an RBI groundout to put Carolina up 1-0.
The Mudcats increased their lead to two on a sacrifice fly from Odom in the fifth inning. Lowry finished the contest throwing six innings and allowing just two hits and two runs (one earned). The Dash right-hander has now won four out of his last six starts.
