UNC will start its road to the Final Four in a familiar place…Raleigh.

The Tarheels received the #1 seed in the East Region Sunday, after winning the ACC Regular Season and Conference tournament Saturday night with a 61-57 win over Virginia. UNC will play its first two games in Raleigh at PNC Arena.

The Tarheels will play the winner of Florida Gulf Coast vs Farleigh Dickinson 1st round game on Tuesday.

North Carolina finished the season with a 28-6 record and 14-4 in the ACC. The Tarheels turned up the defense over the weekend with statement wins over Notre Dame and Virginia in the ACC Tournament. Both Notre Dame and Virginia made the field, with Virginia receiving the #1 seed in the Midwest region.

If the Tarheels advance from Raleigh, they would play regional semifinals and finals in Philadelphia the following weekend. The Tarheels are trying to advance to their first Final Four since the 2009 team won the entire tournament led by  F Tyler Hansbrough and  PG Ty Lawson.

UNC is scheduled to tip off at 7pm Thursday Evening on CBS. Check your local listings for any changes to the broadcast.
