Hornets part with veterans Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Marvin Williams

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Veteran forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was waived by the Charlotte Hornets Saturday, and is reportedly likely to sign with the Dallas Mavericks.The Hornets also completed a buyout for veteran Marvin Williams, who will reportedly sign with the Eastern Conference-leading Milwaukee Bucks once he clears waivers.Kidd-Gilchrist was a No. 2 overall pick by the Hornets (then-Bobcats) in 2012, and is fifth all time on the franchise’s games-played list at 433. However, his role slipped over the past two seasons, playing for coach James Borrego, to the extent he appeared in just 12 game…
