On Monday, UNC senior forward Brice Johnson was named a 2015-2016 USA Today First-Team All-American. The Senior Forward led the Tarheels to their first ACC Regular Season Title on Saturday night with a 76-72 win over Duke. Johnson had another monster game with 18 points and 21 rebounds as the Tar Heels clinched the ACC Regular Season title.
From the USA Today:
Brice Johnson, Sr., F, North Carolina — Johnson had shown flashes of this throughout his first three years with the Tar Heels. The talent was always there; consistency was the question. Johnson put it all together night in and night out this season, making himself one of the country’s most improved players and its most dominant. He led the ACC in rebounding, field goal percentage and double-doubles (19 total, 12 in league play). He averaged a double-double (16.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg) throughout the regular season and anchored one of the nation’s most consistent teams during a wild year.
On Sunday Johnson was also named a unanimous First-Team All-ACC selection. UNC finished with a record of 25-6 overall and 14-4 in the ACC.
Joining Johnson on USA Today’s First-Team is Buddy Hield (Senior Guard, Oklahoma), Jakob Poeltl (Soph. Forward, Utah), Tyler Ulis, (Soph. Guard, Kentucky), Denzel Valentine (Senior Guard, Michigan State)
