November’s been a bit of an up-and-down month for the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Canes are currently 4-3 through seven November games, an impressive mark considering how difficult it is to win in professional sports. On Saturday night, Seth Jarvis scored two, third-period goals in leading the Canes to a 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Aho started the sequence when he intercepted a pass, then passed it to Jarvis. Teravainen took a pass from Jarvis, who sent the puck to a waiting Aho across the net.

Canes defenseman Brent Burns joined the scoring party in Period 3, breaking a 1-1 tie just 2:46 in by hammering home a slapshot. Crosby tied the game back up at two, then Jarvis gave Carolina the lead for good (11:52 into the third) by deflecting Jaccob Slavin’s wrist shot past Tristan Jarry.

“Father Finn,” as Canes fans like to call now-starting goalie Antti Raanta, was also solid in net on Saturday night. He stopped 24 of 26 Penguins shots, improving to 3-1 in November.

The Canes stay home for a while, hosting the Edmonton Oilers at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Carolina and Edmonton split a pair of games last year,
