Kernersville, NC – The anticipation for the upcoming football season under the water tower in Kernersville has reached a fever pitch as the Glenn Bobcats have released their 2024 schedule. This year’s schedule marks the dawn of a new era for the Bobcats, following the departure of longtime head coach Antwon Stevenson, who bid farewell after nine remarkable seasons at the helm. Stevenson’s departure comes on the heels of his appointment as the head coach at Eastern Guilford, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and a winning tradition that has become synonymous with Glenn football.
Stepping into the spotlight is Coach Tommy Green, a familiar face within the Glenn community and a seasoned veteran within the Bobcats’ coaching ranks. Green’s ascension to the position of head coach comes as no surprise to those who have followed his impressive coaching journey over the past nine years. During his tenure at Glenn, Green has held various coaching positions, displaying his versatility, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the success of the Bobcats.
Coach Green played High School Football at Thomasville, winning 3 state championships and graduating in 2007. Green’s passion for football and dedication to his players have been evident since day one. His coaching journey at Glenn has seen him mold and shape young athletes both on and off the field, instilling in them the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. As an assistant coach at Glenn, Green has held several roles including defensive line coach, outside linebackers coach, JV head coach and defensive coordinator, special teams coach, and tight ends and H-backs coach.
As the new head coach, Green brings with him a wealth of experience, a deep understanding of the game, and a relentless drive to continue the Bobcats’ winning tradition. With his guidance, Glenn looks poised to embark on a new chapter filled with excitement, determination, and a hunger for victory.
But before the Bobcats can hit the gridiron and showcase their talent under Coach Green’s leadership, they must first navigate through a challenging 2024 schedule that promises to test their mettle against some of the toughest competition in the state.
