Tommy Neal and Zack Ore Split Sportsman Events, Jacob Hayes and AJ Sanders Collect Stadium Stock Triumphs with Jayden Cordell Taking Street Stock Division Race
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (June 22, 2026) – Only competing this season at Bowman Gray Stadium in the high-dollar events for the Brad’s Golf Cars Modified Division, Saturday was as close to a perfect night as possible for Danny Bohn. The driver of the No. 57 drew pole for the Market USA 100 and led every circuit around The Madhouse en route to his second win of the year.
“Yeah we got a really good car,” Bohn said. “Got to thank my guys, my dad, everybody that helps out with this thing. I went in and saw Puddin’ Swisher today, I told him I would thank him in victory lane. Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. My dad works his ass off on this car, so it’s cool to put it in victory lane.” Bohn just beat out Tim Brown, Slate Myers, Junior Snow, and points leader Burt Myers to the checkers. The Brad’s Golf Cars Modifieds return to action next week with Twin 25-lap races.
The Law Offices of John Barrow Sportsman Division saw two heavy title threats take both checkered flags in week 10. Tommy Neal led every lap of the first 20-lap race from the pole, earning his second win of 2026.
“Yeah we’ve had a lot of bad luck, been in the wrong places at the wrong time,” Neal said. “I just got to thank God, all my sponsors and crew, everybody for not giving up on me.” Neal beat points leader Billy Gregg, Justin Taylor, Nate Gregg, and Bryan Sykes Jr. in race one.
The Sportsman doubleheader was capped off by Zack Ore returning to victory lane for a fourth time in 2026. Bowman Gray Stadium career win number 30 puts the No. 55 to fifth in points with an outside shot at the championship.
“We’re rolling pretty good, we got this thing hooked up” Ore said. “I appreciate everybody for running me clean. I knew if we got out front, we were good. Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there, especially my dad, me and him grew up racing together. He’s not with me right now as far as coming to the racetrack, but this one’s for Dad.” Ore just edged out Justin Taylor, Billy Gregg, Nate Gregg, and Mitch Gales at the finish. Sportsman drivers now gear up for a 100-lap race next week, part of Red Oak Ladies Night.
A 20-lap affair for the QRC HVAC & Refrigeration Street Stocks saw a first-time winner at Bowman Gray Stadium in 15-year-old Jayden Cordell. The teenager took command with three laps left and held off Zac Cogar for his maiden victory at The Madhouse.
“It feels amazing,” Cordell said of his career-defining triumph. “I can’t thank Bad Brad enough and everybody at Velocita, that whole Billy Gregg crew. We had a fast racecar and have had one all year long, I’m glad I could finally get one for everybody.” Behind Cordel and Cogar, the Street Stock top-five were: Bryant Robertson, Brandon Brown, and points leader Brad Lewis. Street Stocks will see another 20 laps around The Madhouse on Saturday night.
Rounding out the night of action at The Madhouse were two races in the Q104.1 Stadium Stock division. Jacob Hayes and AJ Bernys took these wins, in very different methods. Hayes’ No. 0 was ruled the winner after Billy Andrews was disqualified, leading to his first-ever win at Bowman Gray Stadium. Bernys, meanwhile, took his 69th career checkered flag at The Madhouse in the No. 24.
“You just treasure every one you can get,” Sanders said. “And that’s what I do, I don’t boast on it or anything. I know I didn’t have the fastest car, Stephen and all of them had a better car than me, I was just way too tight. But you know, I got to thank the Good Lord above. It’s been a pretty bad year for us here. To get this win, that means a lot, but I can’t do it without my family and crew. They all work their butt off, anything I tell them to do, they’ll do.” Sanders beat out Brandon Brendle, Chris Allison, Stephen Sanders, and Colton Brown. Stadium Stocks will be back in action next week with one or two 15-lap races depending on car count.
One of Bowman Gray Stadium’s most popular nights every year is back with $2 Ladies Night presented by Red Oak Brewery. On tap for this week is a 100-lap Sportsman race, Twin 25-lap shows for the Modifieds, a Skid Race as well as Street and Stadium Stock shows. On top of all of that, the Special Forces Association Parachute team will skydive into The Madhouse.
