Bullet Club was started as a heel Stable primarily in New Japan Pro Wrestling. The group was started when the now Finn Balor turned on his tag team partner. The 1st iteration formed in May 2013 with Karl Anderson, Bad Luck Fale and Tama Tonga. At that time Balor was known as Prince Devitt and by the end of 2013 The Young Bucks and Doc Gallows had also joined the faction. At some point in time The Bullet Club has held all the gold in NJPW including tag team Championships since forming Bullet Club. By April 2015 Balor was on his way to WWE and AJ Syles took his place as leader in the Bullet Club. Styles and Gallows & Anderson were integral parts that left Bullet Club as former champions to come to the WWE. Even Kevin Nash has talked about the BC as the new NWO and admits they are much better as a unit in the ring. Bullet Club has had a presence at some point in time in Ring Of Honor, Global Force Wrestling, Chikara, CMLL, Family Wrestling Entertainment, Wrestlemerica, and Westside Extreme wrestling. This faction was and is a household name and has made New Japan more of a household name in America while selling merchandise like crazy.
The first member to leave was Prince Devitt. He immediately made a name for himself as Finn Balor in NXT. He is a household name and the current reigning and defending NXT Champion. It has been said for awhile he is ready for a callup to the main roster. WWE has trademarked the name Balor Club and could use it to get the band back together in WWE. It would be an interesting dynamic to see 2 former Bullet Club leaders in the same faction especially if it’s called the Balor Club. Finn Balor electrifies and is very over the top with his outfits and entrances which endears him to the fans as it is unique. If and when he debuts on the main roster I hope he is treated like a big deal and allowed to keep the entrance and paint.
Next we have Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson. WWE and TNA fans should be familiar with Gallows as he was Festus and Luke Gallows in WWE and DOC from Aces and Eights in TNA. Karl Anderson is a wrester’s wrestler and can go in the ring. He and Gallows have been multi time Heavyweight Tag Team Champions in New Japan Pro Wrestling and have amazing chemistry. A guy whose nickname is “The Machine Gun” better be able to deliver in the squared circle and whether as a Tag Team or Singles wrestler Karl Anderson delivers. Like AJ Styles before them, these guys don’t need to go to NXT they need to make an impact on the main roster immediately. Hopefully that day will come sooner rather than later. An angle where they run in to help AJ Styles would be a great introduction and also allow them to work with someone they have history with and who can get them a decent rub by being involved with him. This could set up the beginnings of a possible Faction in WWE.
Now we come to the Phenomenal AJ Styles. All I can say is yall don’t want none!! I have wrote about Styles before and I think he is a great guy to move organically into the Daniel Bryan role down the line. This current feud with Jericho is sowing the seeds for that kind of run with WWE for The Phenomenal One. Seeing as how Y2J is a very devious opponent I world not be surprised if he enlisted the Ascension and maybe others to take down Styles which would be a great way to have his former BC running mates explode onto the scene. A full Bullet Club type faction would be a great usage of all involved so let’s see what creative has in store as well as if guys will be able to translate the popularity to WWE.
I for one am excited to see so many new independent faces in the company and these guys and gals getting a real shot to get over to the WWE Universe. Factions are always a good thing and with Balor getting elevated sometime soon guess we will all see what he is doing to the prestige of the NXT Championship. The BC could take on some new members if they so choose or just stay like they are. Either way these guys are great at putting on a show and know how to get a reaction from them. Whatever happens these guys will make an instant impact.
