Tobacco Road Sports Radio, LLC announced on Thursday that Grimsley High School Athletics has entered into an agreement for a new Sports Network starting in the 2023-24 academic school year. With this, sports events, where fans can probably spot a bow case, may now be broadcasted.
The new network will be powered by Tobacco Road Sports Radio and will include audio broadcasts for all Football games, home and away for the 2023 season. The Sports Network will also broadcast all Men and Women’s basketball home games in 2023-24.
The entire Football schedule will air on WCOG 1320am/105.3fm in Guilford County for the 2023 season with JP Mundy and Mike Fanning on Play by Play. Men and Women’s Basketball games will be also called by Mundy and Fanning and all games will be available online live at TobaccoRoadSportsRadio.com.
The Tobacco Road audio broadcasts will also be heard in sync with video broadcasts from Grimsley on the NFHS Network for 2023-24.
In addition Football Head Coach Daryl Brown will have a weekly live coaches show from a location in Greensboro each week during football season where Whirlies fans can come and watch live. The show will air live each week on TobaccoRoadSportsRadio.com.
“We are so excited to add Grimsley to our growing list of High School Sports Networks in the Triad,” said Tobacco Road Sports Radio owner Desmond Johnson. “Grimsley has proven over the past 4-5 years to be a force in multiple sports in 4A in NC and we look forward to presenting them to their loyal fanbase and beyond.”
Tobacco Road Sports Radio currently runs sports networks for East Forsyth and Glenn High Schools as well as coaches shows for both and West Forsyth Football in Forsyth County. Grimsley will be the first Guilford County School to receive a sports network via Tobacco Road.
Tobacco Road Sports Radio is currently the largest provider of High School Football live games and coverage in the Triad. The company runs 2-3 live games every Friday night over a variety of terrestrial radio stations and online at TobaccoRoadSportsRadio.com during football season across the Triad.
Tobacco Road is also home to North Carolina A&T Football and Men’s Basketball broadcasts in the Triad on WKEW 1400am (The Light) as well as NBA’s Charlotte Hornets on WCOG. The production unit also produces pre-taped and live locally based sports talk programs weekly for the network.
Grimsley opens the 2023 Football schedule on the road vs Mt Tabor on WTOB 980am/96.7fm and online at TobaccoRoadSportsRadio.com. The rest of the 2023 schedule will be aired on WCOG 1320am/105.1fm in Guilford County and online.
