The WWE did something unexpected with forming the League Of Nations. They placed then WWE Champion Sheamus with one of the most underused talkers in the WWE in Wade Barrett and added Rusev and Alberto Del Rio to the mix. The things is that as usual WWE Creative did their favorite thing and had them get manhandled by the conquering hero Roman Reigns. This is where WWE went totally wrong.
In order to build value in the group they need to be rebuilt up. To start with Barrett needs to become the mouthpiece for the faction. The loss to Roman Reigns should make Sheamus snap and start to destroy lesser mid-card guys who have nothing going for them. Rusev and Barrett could be a formidable Tag Team and win multiple Championships while adding an air of dominance to the Tag Team division. Del Rio should hold onto the United States Championship with the help of his fellow Stable mates.
The compelling underlying theme could be everyone dominating in their respective division besides Sheamus who is more deranged every month that he does not get back into the WWE Championship picture. This makes him more focused and dangerous while feeling like he is the leader but strapless. Unlike most situations with factions this does not tear them apart but draws them closer. They take on the personality of their leader and all become ruthless dominant heels who work as a cohesive unit and take out anyone who is not with them.
After taking WWE by storm there is the inevitable clash with the Wyatt Family which makes a Heel vs. Heel dynamic this is different and interesting. The League of Nations could force a few face groups to form and destroy them on the way to dominance. There are also a few foreign wrestlers who could join them such as Cesaro, Neville, Finn Balor, Hideo Itami, Sami Zayn, Tyson Kidd, Sylvester Lefort, Kevin Owens and/or Paige as a female member. Another member or 2 could make them even more formidable while not turning them into WCW NWO in it’s later forms.
These are some ideas that I as a wrestling fan think would help what could and should be a great heel faction meets it’s potential and make for some great WWE programming heading into and after Wrestlemania season. Give these guys a long run as the top heels and let’s see if they have what it takes. Leave your thoughts and comments below.
