Tre Jones Injury Update

Duke point guard Tre Jones, who was injured on January 14th against Syracuse game, has missed 2 games or the Blue Devils so far. While Duke has shown they can win without Jones by beating Virginia, then blowing out the Pitt Panthers, Jones is a huge part of what Duke does on both ends of the floor.

Offensively, having multiple ball-handlers has eased the transition some with Jon Scheyer, on The Duke Basketball Podcast, mentioning how, “It changes our team, it puts guys in different roles.” Scheyer also praised R.J. Barrett who has become the principal ball-handler for the Blue Devils: “RJ has done a great job of being who he is”

Jones – who was first thought to possibly have a season-ending injury has been upgraded to day-to-day status. Scheyer also told David Shumate on the podcast that,”Tre’s doing great, he’s improving every game” and “He’s starting to do more and more on the court”

The Blue Devils next game will be in Cameron Indoor Stadium versus Georgia Tech Saturday Jan 26th with a Noon tipoff.
