Top Prospect Cole Anthony to attend UNC

The top rated guard in the 2019 class has made a decision.

PG Cole Anthony chose UNC over Georgetown, Notre Dame and Oregon on Tuesday morning. Anthony made the announcement on a segment of ESPN’s morning show, Get Up.

Anthony’s will plug in immediately in at North Carolina, where coach Roy Williams has signed a number of five star players the past two seasons. Last year, five-stars Nassir Little and Coby White both signed with the Tar Heels out of high school. Both players declared for the NBA draft after one season and are expected to be drafted in the top 14 selections.

In this class, Anthony will join five-star center Armando Bacot, the No. 19 player in 2019, and a good friend of Anthony’s. UNC’s class also includes top-200 point guard Jeremiah Francis. UNC’s class moves to 9th overall on ESPN’s overall rankings with the Anthony pickup.

Williams and UNC remain in the running for five-star wing Precious Achiuwa, the No. 13 player in 2019. Achiuwa is also considering Memphis, UConn, Syracuse, Kansas, St. John’s, UCLA and Georgia.
