Southern Broadcast Media, LLC continues to build on a programming relationship with Tobacco Road Sports Radio with the announcement of a Sports Programming block on station WWBG 1470 AM with coverage over the Triad from a 10kw facility with reception in Kernersville, Greensboro, Guilford, Alamance and parts of Stokes and Forsyth County.
The original programming will feature local shows produced about Triad Sports that will be available over WWBG and TobaccoRoadSportsRadio.com. The programming will consist of a “TGIFriday” block of sports programming including 3 hours of locally produced sports talk shows and Live High School Athletics from Guilford and Forsyth Counties. The Sports panel shows discuss multiple topics that are North Carolina Sports Centric, including ACC Sports, Carolina Panthers/NFL News, NASCAR, Charlotte Hornets/NBA News, High School Athletics and more.
The Lineup includes “The Score with Brett Wiseman“, “Outta Pocket with Michael Davis” and “Franchise Players” with hosts JP Mundy and Ryan Stone. A Friday Night High School Basketball showcase is being planned as well. The shows will begin to air on WWBG starting Friday October 14th at 4pm across the Triad. The shows will also be available online via TobaccoRoadSportsRadio.com
Wiseman currently serves as Morning Show producer for “Triad Today” on WSJS 600am with host Jeffrey Griffin. JP Mundy and Ryan Stone work as studio hosts at Learfield in addition to being personalities for Tobacco Road Sports Radio.

Tobacco Road Sports Radio, LLC was formed by owner Desmond Johnson in Sept 2020. The audio production network focuses on locally produced sports talk and live events in Guilford and Forsyth counties. The network currently runs programming or produces live sports across 4 terrestrial radio signals across the Triad and is the production partner for North Carolina A&T Athletics. Tobacco Road Sports Radio produces other well known sports programs including “The Rundown with Desmond Johnson” which airs on WWBG 1470am every Saturday live 10am-12 noon.
Johnson previously was the Creative Director/Programming Manager for WSJS 600am when it was running as “The Sports Hub” before its recent switch back to News, Talk and Sports programming.

Tobacco Road Sports Radio and Southern Broadcast Media are entering their second year of providing local coverage on WTOB, WWBG, and WCOG of high school football and compelling and entertaining sports reporting programming.
