CHARLOTTE, N.C. — When Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer said he’d be “in on every deal” at his introductory press conference, he wasn’t joking. The Panthers began to hear rumors Tuesday night that the Patriots were interested in parting ways with former All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore, who was in the final year of his contract and was looking for a new deal.
