STARKVILLE, MISS. – NC State fell in road action at Mississippi State 24-10.
Mississippi State elected to receive the opening kick, and proceeded to return it 100 yards for the opening score.
In that first quarter the Pack outgained the Bulldogs 114-5 and 6-0 on first downs, but Mississippi State had the lone score of the quarter for the 7-0 lead.
NC State got on the scoreboard less than three minutes into the second quarter with a 45-yard Christopher Dunn field goal.
The Bulldogs tacked on a 21-yard TD pass with 1:09 left in the half to take a 14-3 lead into the break.
A fumble on the Pack’s opening possession of the second half resulted in Mississippi State’s second TD pass of the game to make it 21-3 into the fourth quarter.
The Pack found the end zone with just over a minute left in the contest, Devin Leary connecting with Thayer Thomas for a four-yard score.
