NC State Dominates Boston College 92-62

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The 22nd-ranked NC State men’s basketball team shot 55 percent and tied a season-high with 15 three-pointers to dominate Boston College, 92-62, Saturday afternoon at Conte Forum.

With the win, NC State improves to 20-6, 10-5 in the ACC while Boston College falls to 12-14, 6-9 in the ACC.

The 30-point margin of victory is the third-largest in an ACC road game in program history.

NC State finished the game shooting 55.2 percent from the field, its high against an ACC team this season and also tied its season-high with 15 three-pointers.

Jarkel Joiner led NC State with 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting. He added six rebounds, six assists and had five steals.

DJ Burns had his second double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Terquavion Smith finished with 17 points and with his last basket of the game became the 56th player in program history to score 1000 points in their career.

Casey Morsell added 16 points, connecting on 5-of-8 three-pointers.

Jack Clark saw his first action since Dec. 30 and added six points on 2-for-2 shooting from long range and four rebounds in 15 minutes.

Boston College had a 5-2 lead two minutes into the game, but  Smith would go on an 8-0 run by himself to give the Pack a 10-5 lead that it would never give back.

The Pack eventually opened up a 23-13 lead on the Eagles. BC battled back to within six, 38-32, with under 90 seconds to play in the first half, but Joiner would make back-to-back three-pointers to give the Pack a 12-point advantage into the halftime locker room.

NC State shot 57.6 percent from the field in the first half as Smith (14), Joiner (11) and DJ Burns (10) combined to score 35 of the Pack’s 44 first half points.

The Pack would open the second half on a 13-4 run to take a 21-point lead and Boston College would never get closer than 17 points the rest of the way.

NC State is back in action Tuesday when it plays at Syracuse (15-10, 8-6 ACC). Tipoff at the JWA Wireless Dome is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on the ACC Network.
