Grimsley Remains Undefeated, Drops Ragsdale 49-7

The Grimsley Whirlies continued their undefeated streak by defeating the Ragsdale Tigers 49-7 on Friday, October 10, 2024. This victory moves Grimsley to an impressive 7-0 record for the season.

Quarterback Faizon Brandon, the nation’s top recruit for the class of 2026, showcased his dual-threat capabilities. He threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns, completing 18 of 22 passes, and also added 55 yards on the ground with another touchdown. Running back Mitchell Summers contributed significantly with 120 rushing yards and two touchdowns, maintaining his status as a crucial part of the Whirlies’ offense.

The Grimsley defense was dominant throughout the game, allowing only a single touchdown while forcing three turnovers. Defensive lineman Bryce Davis led the charge with two sacks and six tackles, three of which were for a loss. The defense’s pressure and ability to disrupt Ragsdale’s offense played a vital role in the one-sided victory.

With this win, Grimsley remains at the top of the Metro 4A conference and is currently ranked third in North Carolina according to MaxPreps. The Whirlies will next face Page High School in what is expected to be another thrilling matchup as they aim to continue their perfect season
