UNC improved to 20-5 (10-2 ACC).

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – No. 8 North Carolina made quick work of Wake Forest on Saturday, racing out to an 18-0 lead and coasting to a 95-57 victory at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

UNC (20-5, 10-2 ACC) shot season-high field goal percentages from the floor (62.3) and from the three-point line (64.0) while holding Wake Forest to 32.8 percent shooting (17.4% 3FG). The Tar Heels averaged 1.3 points per possession despite turning the ball over on 21.1 percent of their possessions (15).

Roy Williams’s squad, which is now 6-0 on the road in ACC games, led 83-45 with 6:14 to play. The Tar Heels held a 25-3 lead midway through the first half and took a 49-21 lead into halftime. The Demon Deacons’ 21 points and 20.6 field goal percentage in the first half are season-lows by a UNC opponent.

UNC was as effective offensively as it was defensively in the first half, shooting 74.1 percent from the floor (20-of-27) and 75.0 percent from three-point range (9-of-12). It marked the Tar Heels’ best shooting half since shooting 78.1 percent vs. N.C. State on Feb. 10, 2018.

Cam Johnson led UNC with a season-high 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting (7-of-10 3FG). Coby White and Luke Maye scored 10 points apiece. Jaylen Hoard paced the Demon Deacons with 17 points and six rebounds.
