EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Top Ranked Grimsley QB Faizon Brandon Picks Tennessee

Grimsley High School’s rising star quarterback, Faizon Brandon, has solidified his future on the gridiron, committing to play college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. In an interview on Tobacco Road Sports Radio with Chase Williams, Brandon opened up about his decision-making process, revealing why Tennessee stood out from a list of powerhouse programs.

While acknowledging the allure of programs like LSU, NC State, and even Alabama, Brandon highlighted the strong connection he felt with the Tennessee coaching staff, particularly head coach Josh Heupel. “Coach Heupel, their offensive coordinator [Coach Tee Martin], Coach [Joey] Kirkland, they all made me feel like a priority,” Brandon said. He elaborated on the coaching staff’s belief in his abilities, stating, “They see me fitting perfectly into their system.”

The Tennessee Volunteers’ high-octane offense, known for its explosive passing attack, also played a significant role in Brandon’s decision. “Their offense is something special,” Brandon remarked. “It allows quarterbacks to make plays and put up points, and that’s what I like to do.”

Grimsley fans can expect to see Brandon light up the scoreboard for two more season before heading to Knoxville. This commitment marks a significant moment for Brandon and Grimsley athletics, and Tobacco Road Sports Radio extends its congratulations to the talented young quarterback.
