In an intense matchup on Friday, October 4, 2024, the East Forsyth Eagles secured a dramatic 35-28 victory over the Mount Tabor Spartans. The Eagles were led by standout performances from quarterback Bryce Baker and wide receivers Jaire Richburg and Corey Blair.

Bryce Baker delivered a stellar performance, throwing for over 207 yards and 3 touchdowns, showing impressive poise under pressure. His primary targets Friday, Jaire Richburg and Corey Blair, both made crucial contributions. Richburg recorded 8 receptions for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Blair added 5 catches for 90 yards, including a critical 40-yard catch to set up a score late in the game. Blair also rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns and East Forsyth finished with 234 rushing yards.

Mount Tabor, ranked in the top 10 in the state, put up a tough fight. Their offense, powered by a strong ground game, kept the contest close throughout. Both teams traded leads in a game marked by big plays and critical defensive stands. Mt Tabor moves to 4-2 on the season, after a 4 game winning streak. The Spartans only losses so far are to Grimsley and East Forsyth, both top ranked teams in the NCHSAA 4A class. Both teams combined for over 700 yards of total offense in this thrilling high school football clash.
