Diving in With: Breon Pass

Imagine being so talented at two things that schools wanted to offer you a free education to play either. This is a dilemma Reidsville High (NC), sophomore athlete Breon Pass faces, he’s currently a star on the Rams football and basketball teams. Pass also realizes at some point he will come to a crossroads and have to decide on one sport.

On the gridiron Pass is a 6’1 athlete and that’s the only way to describe his contributions, Pass impacts the game at all three levels. Offensively Pass has racked up 15 total touchdowns and 961 all purpose yards, he’s got 11 touchdown receptions at slot receiver, he’s thrown two touchdowns, and returned two touchdowns on special teams. On defense Pass is a key member of the Rams secondary, he’s intercepted five passes and recorded 13 tackles.

Currently Reidsville (10-0, 3-0), is one of the top teams in the entire state and with one game remaining against Cummings (4-6, 3-0), the Rams will look to claim their conference and an undefeated regular season. This group has been dominant on both sides of the ball and week in and week out Reidsville has delivered.

On the hardwood Pass may be even better, Pass is a highly touted point guard prospect in the 2021 cycle. He currently has a basketball offer from NC State, and Pass expects to make major strides in year two on the court. Pass has done well to manage the hype of all the success in both sports.

“I just remain humble and I continue to work on perfecting both of my crafts, It means a lot to me for the NC State staff and program to get involved so early. Most importantly, it gives me the motivation to continue to work harder.” Pass told SportsCarolinaMonthly.

“I expect a lot of good things going in to this season. Losing 7 seniors last year was tough but I learned a lot from them. Leadership, brotherhood and discipline is going to be the key to success. We’re going to be a young team but I know we have guys who are going to step up.”

Over the next couple of years Pass will have to hone one of these crafts and choose one to pursue at the next level, he doesn’t seem set on one yet but when the day comes Pass will be prepared.

“At the end of the day, I have to make a decision and I know that is going to be hard for me.”
