Charlotte FC Defeat New England Revolution 3-1

Charlotte FC defeated the visiting New England Revolution 3-1 on Saturday in front of 30,000 roaring fans at Bank of America Stadium. The fans got to once again witness what started last week at the forty-minute mark of the Charlotte FC vs Atlanta United game and carried over into tonight’s game vs the New England Revolution.

The offense, which had woken up last week, carried over and put on an unbelievable display allowing the fans to witness history once again. Not only did this crowd get to witness the first ever win in franchise
history, but they also got to see the first Charlotte FC home goal in their young history when striker, Karol Swiderski scored at the six-minute mark of the opening half.

Swiderski, who missed two beautiful header opportunities last week, came back with two beautiful goals. Ben Bender added his first professional goal, as Charlotte went on to defeat New England 3-1 for
their first win of the season.

Not only did the offense play well, but the defense once again stood tall. Led again by goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina, who continued to make huge saves in net. The only goal given up by Kahlina was a penalty shot by Charles Gil at the fifty-four-minute mark of the game. This was the third penalty shot against Kahlina that has found its way in the net this young season.

Just when you thought the Revolution had taken over the momentum in the game, tying it up at 1-1, three minutes later Swiderski scored his second goal of the game giving Charlotte the lead that they would keep for good. Ben Bender added his first professional goal at the sixty-four-minute
mark of the game to give Charlotte a much-needed insurance goal. Bender finished his night with a goal and an assist.

The Charlotte FC will try to make it two in a row as they once again play home this time against FC Cincinnati on Saturday March 26th at 5PM
