Ladies and Gentlemen, Week Three is in the books after a beautiful night of racing!
The night kicked off with Street Stock as Christian Joyce was able to get past Austin Jones late in the race to pick up the win, Joyce was able to catch Jones who dominated the race. Bryan Sykes Jr. was second, Cody Gum was third, and Jordan Atkins was fourth.
In the first 20 lap Sportsman Series race, Riley Neal would take the lead with less than three laps remaining to win the race. Amber Lynn was runner-up, followed by Plemmons. Spencer Martin was fourth, and Chase Robertson was fifth.
Tim Brown wins in dominating fashion ending his long winless drought. Although Brown won his 12th championship last year in the Brad’s Golf Cars Modified Series, he failed to win a race, his last win had been July 24, 2021.
32 races without a win, the Kevin Powell Motorsports 100 gives Brown win number 95 in his storied career after leading 99 of the 100 laps.
As he would hold off Burt Myers, Brandon Ward being the only other driver to lead a lap would finish third, Danny Bohn fourth. Bohn would defeat the fan’s challenge giving him all of the $3,000 prize.
The four fastest qualifiers were John Holleman IV, Danny Bohn, Jordan Fleming, and James Civali. They all had the chance to go to the back of the field in hopes of moving to the front of the field and winning big prize money. As Holleman would be the only one of the four not to take the Challenge.
In the second Sportsman Series race, Michael Adams held off Justin Taylor for the win.
It was Adams’ second win of the season and it was his 25th career win.
After the win Adams gave a shoutout to Justin Taylor
“I want to thank Justin Taylor,” Adams said. “I give him all respect for running me clean like that, man. That’s what racing’s all about. If everybody else would do that, everybody here would be on their feet.”
Chase Robertson was third and Amber Lynn was fourth.
The first 15-lap race in the Q104.1 Stadium Stock Series came down to the final lap.
A.J. Sanders led most of the race, but Robert Strmiska snuck by him as Sanders would spin allowing for Strmiska to win as Isaac Harris finishes runner up. Sanders finished third, Justin Owens finished fourth.
In the second 15-lap race in the Q104.1 Stadium Stock Series, it was déjà vu for Brandon Clements as he looked to grab his first career win at Bowman Gray. Chuck Wall would get by him late in the race just like last week and pick up his 27th career win. Brandon Brendle was third and Blaine Curry was fourth.
Next week’s racing will feature the Thunder Road Grill Street Stock 50. It’s the longest race of the season for the Law Offices of John Barrow Street Stock Series.
In addition, there will be twin 25 lap races in the Brad’s Golf Cars Modified Series, twin 20 lap races in the McDowell Heating & Air Sportsman Series, one or two 15 lap races in the Q104.1 Stadium Stock Series, plus there will be a Classified Modified race.
Gates open at 6 pm on Saturday night, and the first race is at 8pm. Adult admission for Saturday is just $12. For children 6-11, it’s only $2 and children under 5 are free.
Starting this year, you are able to get your tickets online to beat the lines at the gates.
