Finally, after two weeks off due to rain outs, drivers, crews and fans were able to witness cars back on the track at Bowman Gray for the Night of Destruction!
The night started off with Stadium Stock, as Luke Smith started on the pole and led until lap ten whe Brandon Brendle took the lead. Brendle then went on to win.
Next up the first of two Sportsman races. Wesley Thompson started the race out front. Thompson would lead most of the race until lap 15 when Kyle Southern would get by him for the lead. Southern would go on to pick up the win.
The first of two of the twin 25’s for modifieds was next, as the points leader “the Showstopper” Chris Fleming started out front with Jason Myers beside him. Fleming would lead flag to flag to pick up the win for his 12th win at Bowman Gray.
The second of two Sportsman went to Justin Taylor, as he was able to work his way up through the field to win for the first time this season holding off Zack Clifton.
After the Madhouse Scramble Hillbilly Racing would start front row, with Zach Brewer of Arcadia on the pole, as he would lead flag to flag getting his first career win in the division. (Stay tuned for later this week for my Q&A with this week’s winner)
David Creed won the 20-lap Street Stock Division race.
As drama would occur on the final lap as Bryant Robertson and Bryan Sykes would get together and take each other out. After it was over Robertson went after Sykes, but before he could reach him police officers and track officials intercepted Robertson.
Tyler McDonald would win the final of the two Stadium Stock race.
