Bowman Gray Q&A – Justin Taylor

Ladies and Gentleman welcome to this week’s Q&A. I had the opportunity to talk to your current points leader in Sportsman Series, Justin Taylor who recently won the Sportsman 100.

Q: What got you interested in racing?

A: I grew up around racing, my dad, grandpa and uncle Randy raced at 311. And it was in my blood!

Q: Where did the nickname “Donkey Strong” come from?
A: You know how strong a donkey is? Pretty strong so as a team we are DonkeyStrong blood sweat and tears we win as a team and lose as a team.
Q: What’s your favorite meal to eat before and after the race?
A: Chick Fil A and after whatever is open lol.
Q: You won the first 100 lapper, what would it mean if you could win all three?
A: To win all 3 is our goal and we learned from this one that we can’t be patient and wait next time. There will be cars that are not as fast jump to the outside and get down in front of you if you’re not careful.
Q: I know it’s still early, but do you feel like you are capable enough to hold on to your points lead and go on to win the championship?
A: Championship is way too early to talk about it would be cool but we are literally going to win every race and letting the points fall into place.
Q: In your opinion, who is the biggest competition in your series?
A: There’s about 4 or 5 cars that can win anytime the green falls.
Q: Of all your competitors who would you say you enjoy racing against most?
A: I enjoy racing around people that have respect and show it. But if I had to pick on prob be Kyle Southern he a pretty good buddy that I can trust.
Q: Last question, it’s something I like to ask drivers. “If you could race against any legendary driver (BGS or NASCAR) who would it be?”
A: Kyle Busch for the simple fact we hate losing just as bad as the other. And that’s my driver. He has helped in my racing career.

I want to take the time to thank Justin Taylor for taking time and doing an interview with me! I also want to wish him good luck this weekend and the rest of the season!
