Ladies and Gentlemen, I had the opportunity to interview the newest winner at Bowman Gray in the Sportsman Division. Chase Robertson is a 17-year-old driver in the Sportsman Division. Robertson, a rising senior at Oak Grove High School, comes from one of the most respected families who have been racing at the Stadium for generations.

Chase joined his late grandfather Gerald, his father, Mike, who is also his racing coach, and his brother, Ryan, as well as his uncle Bryant as a winner at the Madhouse.

Chase picked up his first career win in his 50th career start.

Q: Coming from a racing family, I’m sure I know the answer. But What was it that got you interested in racing?

A: Seeing my dad and brother race and being out in the shop with them when I was little.

Q: I know you play football and baseball too, what would you say you enjoy most football, baseball or racing?

A: It’s a tie between football and racing.

Q: How special was this win at Bowman Gray compared to other tracks you’ve won at?

A: Bowman Gray was more special to me because my friends were there and just being in the record books with my family.

Q: Where do you see yourself in five years? Could we see you make the jump to modifieds? Could we see you work your way up the ranks to race in Cup one day? Or could we see you be a college star football player who could potentially be an NFL player?

A: I’m sure eventually I’ll run modifieds im not sure when but I would love to make it to cup or be in the NFL.

Q: How would you describe your driving style to fan?

A: Passively aggressive.

Q: Other than your dad, uncle and brother who are some guys you lean on for advice when it comes to racing and how to conquer Bowman Gray?

A: Dylan Ward

Q: Who would you say you enjoy racing along side of out there on the track?

A: Tommy Neal or Wesley Thompson.

Q: What is it about Bowman Gray that stands out to you compared to other tracks you’ve been to?

A: The fans at BGS is nothing like any other track I’ve been to.

Q: Last question, it’s something I like to ask drivers. “If you could race against any legendary driver (BGS or NASCAR) who would it be?”

A: My dad or brother.

I wanna thank Chase for taking time in doing an interview with me. I also wanna wish him good luck on the rest of the season! Make sure you check out tonight’s action as it’ll be the Stadium Stock 50 laps; along with the twin 25-lap Modified races; twin 25-lap Sportsman races; 20-lap Street Stock race; and a chain race.
