Baker Mayfield Similar to Jake Delhomme?

On Saturday July 16th, EZ Sports Talk on KDUS 1060am in Phoenix with hosts Javon Adams and Edward Smith, welcomed Bleav in Carolina Panthers Co Host and Tobacco Road Sports Radio owner Desmond Johnson to their Morning show to discuss the Baker Mayfield trade.

Mayfield was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Carolina Panthers on July 7th. Mayfield is expected to complete for the starting QB position with Sam Darnold.

Johnson mentioned the potential similarities between Mayfield and former Panthers QB Jake Delhomme around the 3:50 mark of the segment.

“I feel like Baker Mayfield is built in the same mold as potentially Jake Delhomme,” Johnson declared.

Johnson went on to comment, ” When you’ve got a guy, where the rest of the guys on the team will run though a wall for….that’s kind of what Jake had during that Super Bowl year (2003) and afterwards…”

Johnson, Adams and Smith continued on and Johnson gave a prediction for Wins/Losses for the Panthers for the 2022 season.
