Drivers in the modified series already had their first taste of running Bowman Gray back in February for the Madhouse Classic that saw the Showstopper Chris Fleming pick up the inaugural Madhouse Classic win holding off Burt Myers.
Fleming will look to carry over his momentum from the Clash weekend in hopes to dethrone last year’s champion Burt Myers. Myers is looking to pick up his 12th championship, as well as his quest to get to 100 wins in his modified career at Bowman Gray. Tim Brown also will look to get back to his winning ways after picking his 100th career win last season. He hasn’t won a championship since 2022 as he looks to get his lucky number 13th championship. Brandon Ward will also be another driver who will look to be a contender for the championship as he will be in hunt of his second championship.
This season, there will be fresh faces who will look to make a name for themselves. Riley Neal, who will be running his second season in modified will look to breakthrough and find victory lane as a modified winner. The fourth generation Slate Myers who also will be competing in his second full season looks to make a name for himself and add his name to the list of winners named Myers at Bowman Gray.
Rookie Ethan Truell will look to make a name for himself in his first season at the madhouse.
Names such as Jason Myers, Lee Jeffreys, Jr Snow, and Kyle Southern will also be names to keep eyes on as they look to make noise this season. Also keep an eye on John Holleman IV as he will return for the big races.
Championship prediction for Modified: if it is anything like years past it will be Burt going back to back or like multiple years after Burt has won a championship, Tim has been the driver to find his way to be champion! But I will pick Burt to be the 2025 champion.
Over the years Sportsman has seen a lot of big names leave the series and move up or retire. As 2025 rolls around one driver fans won’t be seeing on the track is Amber Lynn, as she unfortunately had to hang up her helmet due to health concerns.
As the division will move on with the names of Chase Robertson, Tommy Neal, Zack Ore, Michael Adams and Sterling Plemmons
Fans will see Zack Clifton return for select races as well as Dylan Ward.
Championship Prediction for Sportsman: I see Chase Robertson be a strong contender as he came close to picking up his second championship last year. While Zack Ore was the dominant one to excel. But look for the Tiger Tommy Neal to make a strong case in his quest to get his fourth Sportsman championship.
While last year’s Street Stock became one of the most interesting divisions ran last season, look for the Dylan Ward racing machines of Christian Joyce and Brad Lewis to be dominant again. Joyce will look to win his third straight championship.
Austin Jones who flirted with the idea of moving up to sportsman has said he has some unfinished business in street stock and will look to be the driver to dethrone Joyce of being champion. Let’s not forget another driver who had a solid run last year but unfortunately came up short of finding his way to victory lane. Kevin “KTrain” Gilbert after a strong run last year KTrain looks to continue his run of good luck and get a win as well as possibly a championship. Emilee Lewis will look to contend after making a trip to victory lane last season. Watch out for Andy Southern as he found himself in victory lane a handful of times last season.
Fans will see Zack Staley return to the track this season along with rumors of Brian Wall, Billy Gregg and Bryan Sykes Sr. returning. Kyler Staley will look to make noise this season along with Bryan Sykes Jr.
Championship Prediction for Street Stock: Although the DWR cars will be fast and hard to be, I always tend to pull for the ones who say they have “unfinished business” Austin Jones will join his grandfather Pee Wee Jones and be a track champion at Bowman Gray.
Finally let’s talk about the AJ Sanders Division…. I mean Stadium Stock lol as AJ has won the championship the last three years. Sanders will look to do something that no one else in the division has done win four straight. As it won’t be easy for Sanders as he will have to defend his quest against both Keatons (Grayson and Connor), the return of Brandon Brendle, Chuck Wall and Tyler McDonald.
Championship Prediction for Stadium Stock: This one is challenging for many reasons. The Keatons have been dominant, AJ Sanders has been dominant, and whenever you have Brandon Brendle in stadium stock he can be dominant. Let’s not forget Chuck Wall as he has always been a driver to watch. I believe the 2025 championship will be determined by dominants and that will be for the four year in a row AJ Sanders. The guy just cannot lose when it comes to championships.
