2022 Bowman Gray Racing Season Preview

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are officially just two weeks away from the start of the 2022 Bowman Gray Season. With a freshly repaved track, drivers and crews have been working all off-season long to get ready for the 2022 season. It’s hard to believe it has 232 days since the checkered flag fell on the 2021 season finale, as we witnessed Tim Brown break the tie with Burt and go on to win his eleven modified title. “Tiger” Tommy Neal picked up his second title. Billy Gregg winning his third title and second in a row.

In 2022, I expect to see big things from John Holleman IV, as he did not seem to disappoint in the legendary 69 made famous by Junior Miller, winning multiple races in his rookie season. Jon Boy Brown should be a contender like he always is, along with being a fan-favorite. Burt Myers will be looking for redemption after his reign of titles came to an end last season with Tim Brown crashing the party to pick up his eleventh. But that didn’t stop Burt from winning the SMART tour title which will help make him hungry enough to get that eleventh title at Bowman Gray. Tim Brown will look to repeat and grab his twelfth title.

Modified Champion : Favorite Burt Myers

“Tiger” Tommy Neal will look to repeat there will be a new Neal on the block as Riley Neal will be joining the Sportsman Division that both (his Father Kevin Neal and Uncle Tommy) have won championships in. While Zack Ore’s 2021 season ended in a tie for first he surely hopes 2022 will lead him to more victories and a championship. Justin Taylor is hungry to get back to being dominate as he was back in 2019 and will look to bounce back this season. Amber Lynn finished third in points last season will look to continue to move up and have a better points finish and get more wins.

Sportsman Champion Favorite : Tommy Neal

Dark Horse : Zack Ore

Billy Gregg dominated the Street Stock last season up and down. He’ll look to do it again this season. As Chris Allison will step in as a part time driver as Jeremy Warren stepped away in retirement. Christian Joyce and Brian Wall both stepped up to the plate and finished consistently and even picked up wins to finish 2nd and 3rd in point. Taylor Robbins found her way back to victory lane after short drought.
