WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (April 16, 2019) – Despite a two-RBI night from Zach Remillard and a two-hit effort from Luis Robert, the Dash fell to the Wilmington Blue Rocks 4-3 on Tuesday night at BB&T Ballpark.

With the score tied at three in the top of the seventh, Cristian Perez got the Blue Rocks (9-4) started with a sharp single to left. Perez scooted to third base after an errant pickoff attempt by Winston-Salem pitcher Will Kincanon (0-2). After two straight outs, Brewer Hicklen deposited a run-scoring single into left-center field putting Wilmington ahead 4-3.

Trailing by one, Tyler Frost led off the bottom of the ninth with his second double of the night for Winston-Salem (6-7). However, Tad Ratliff closed the door with three straight outs to preserve the victory for Wilmington.
The Blue Rocks jumped out to a quick lead against Dash starter John Parke. After back-to-back walks to Kyle Isbel and Brewer Hicklen, a throwing error by Remillard advanced the runners to second and third. Isbel then came home on the second wild pitch of the inning to score the game’s first run. Hicklen later crossed home on an RBI groundout by Nick Pratto to give Wilmington a 2-0 edge.

Winston-Salem cut into the lead in the bottom of the second against former first-round pick Brady Singer (1-1). Frost led off the frame by smoking a double to center, extending his hit streak to seven games. Then, Remillard notched his first of two RBIs on the night by singling up the middle to score Frost and make it 2-1.

The Dash tied the score in the third, thanks to the efforts of Robert and Nick Madrigal. Robert, who posted his 10th multi-hit game of the season by going 2-for-3, led off the inning with an infield single before dodging a pickoff attempt to reach second on a stolen base attempt. Then, Madrigal bounced a single into center field to plate Robert and knot the score at two.

Wilmington regained the lead in the top of the fourth. Nick Pratto reached on an error by Yeyson Yrizarri to begin the inning and promptly stole second base. After moving to third on a groundout, Pratto came home on a sacrifice fly to deep right by Sebastian Rivero.

With one down in the bottom of the fourth, Remillard crushed an opposite-field home run to right to tie the score at three. It was Remillard’s first home run of the season. However, the home run would be the last run for Winston-Salem on the night.

The Dash will conclude their three-game set with Wilmington on Wednesday night at BB&T Ballpark. Right-hander Blake Battenfield (0-1, 6.30 ERA) will take the mound for Winston-Salem against Wilmington lefty Marcelo Martinez, who will make his High-A debut. First pitch is set for 7 p.m., and fans can catch all the action on wsdash.com/broadcast, MiLB.tv and the TuneIn Radio App. Pregame coverage begins at 6:45 p.m.
