More bad news for Panthers star running back Christian McCaffrey: A stint on the IR

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers have placed star running back Christian McCaffrey on the injured reserve list, meaning he won’t play for at least the next three weeks. McCaffrey suffered a hamstring injury in the second quarter of the Panthers Week 3 game against the Houston Texans on Sept. 23. He has missed the past two games. The Panthers medical team met Saturday morning to discuss the plan for McCaffrey and thought it was best he sit for some time until he was fully healthy.
