Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to this week’s Bowman Gray Driver Q&A! I had the opportunity to interview a fan favorite of the Street Stock, Taylor Robbins. Taylor made a name for herself last year, as she put her name in the record books being just the third female driver to win at Bowman Gray and first since 1998. She also went on to pick up two more wins. Unfortunately luck has not been on her side this season as she has struggled, hopefully she will find some luck and find her way back to victory lane.

Q: What was it about racing that got you interested?
A: I’ve always grown up around the racetrack with my dad racing. Watching him all those years was really fun but it made me want to give it a try.

Q: Your dad raced in Modifieds, Have you ever considered racing in Modifieds or even Sportsman division?
A: I have had the opportunity to practice in my dad’s mod and it was super fun! But I’m happy with fenders. Haha! We have considered moving up to limited just because street is just a wreck fest but for now I hope to stay where I am.

Q: Amber Lynn has been dominating the Street Stock this year, what is it like having another female driver to compete with.
A: She has done a great job. This isn’t the first I have raced with another female so it’s nothing new. She is just another car out there wanting to get to the front like the rest of us.

Q: What holds your love/attention about racing?
A: The amount of time I get to spend with friends and family. It truly is a family sport and because of it me and my dad have a super close relationship. I love the adrenaline rush I get every weekend and the excitement through the week looking forward to Saturday nights.

Q: What competitor do you enjoy racing against most?
A: Jeremy Warren is my favorite to race with. He’s about the only one who I have never had contact with. (Let’s not jinx that now! Lol) we race really hard together and have a lot of respect for one another.

Be sure you check out this week’s action as Modifieds will have Twin 50s with the double-file restart cone, Two Sportsman Races, 20 laps Street Stock, plus Stadium Stock, also there will be a special pickup truck side-wheelie stunt. Gates open at 6:00 for practice, and the first race begins at 8:00 PM.
