AMAA Sports will be hosting the AMAA Games: Grappling and Takedown Tournament this Saturday March 19th at their sports complex located at 4685 Yadkinville Road, Pfafftown, NC, 27040. The event is hosted by Shane Williams. The tournament director is Chad Stevens from Section8 MMA.

The event starts at 9am with registration beginning at 830am. It is $45 to pre-register, $60 to register the day of the event. You can preregister at www.amaasports.com.

Takedown Tournament Rules:

Takedown Portion: First to score three (3) takedowns wins. If tied at the end of the period, the competitors go to a sudden death period and first to score wins.

Grappling: Competitor can only win by submission in the first round (5 mins). If no submission has happened they go to a sudden death period in which the first to score wins. Scoring is made by takedown, guard pass, sweep, or obtaining a dominate position -mount, back with hooks, side control.
